How do you use the GEO score checker?
- Paste one page URL, such as a product, service or blog page. The checker reads that page, your robots.txt and your llms.txt in about 5 seconds.
- Read the score out of 100. 85 or more is excellent, 70 to 84 is good, 50 to 69 needs work and under 50 is poor.
- Fix the 3 items at the top first. They are sorted by the points you would gain, so you fix the biggest gaps before the small ones.
What does the GEO score checker look at?
Access
Whether robots.txt lets GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended read the page, and whether the text is in the HTML.
Answer shape
An answer-first opening, question headings, lists and tables: the parts AI answers lift into their replies.
Trust
Specific numbers, an author and date, links to sources and schema.org structured data.
Discovery
An llms.txt file and internal links, so AI crawlers find your other pages that answer related questions.
Is the GEO score the same as AI visibility?
The GEO score checks the page itself. It doesn't ask any AI engine about you. To see whether ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity actually name your brand when buyers ask, run the free AI visibility audit. Pages that score well here usually do better there, and internal links are one of the cheapest wins: the free internal link audit finds every missing one.
Frequently asked questions
What is a GEO score?
A GEO (generative engine optimization) score shows how ready a page is to be read, understood and quoted by AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. LinkBrainly scores 14 checks out of 100.
Is the GEO score checker free?
Yes. It's free, needs no sign-up and doesn't call any AI model. It reads your page, robots.txt and llms.txt the way an AI crawler would.
Does a high GEO score mean ChatGPT will cite my page?
No tool can promise that. A high score means nothing on the page stops AI engines from using it. To see whether they actually mention your brand, run the free AI visibility audit.
What is the difference between GEO and SEO?
SEO helps a page rank in the list of Google results. GEO helps a page get used inside the answer an AI writes. Most GEO checks, such as clear headings, facts and internal links, also help SEO.
How often should I check my pages?
Check a page after every big edit, and check your top 10 pages once a month. Fix the items marked in red first: they cost the most points.
